Kim Moonsoo Attends People Power Party General Meeting on the 11th
Has Tea with Floor Leader Kwon Seongdong
Kim Moonsoo Urges Lawmakers to Focus on Campaign During Election Period
Despite attempts to replace the presidential candidate, Kwon Seongdong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, is expected to remain in his position. It is reported that Kim Moonsoo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, requested Kwon to continue serving as floor leader, as Kwon had been actively involved in efforts to unify the candidates, including going on a hunger strike.
On the 11th, Seo Jiyoung, the People Power Party's floor spokesperson, spoke to reporters after a general meeting of the party attended by Kim. Seo explained, "Kim and floor leader Kwon had a tea meeting, during which they discussed the appointment of a new emergency committee chair?currently vacant following the resignation of Kwon Youngse?and the additional appointment of campaign committee chairs."

Regarding the calls from some within the party to replace the candidate and the resulting debate over Kwon's responsibility, Seo stated, "I am aware that some lawmakers are talking about a replacement, but Kim believes that electing a new floor leader during the presidential campaign is inappropriate." Seo added, "Kim only asked that the floor leader help ensure lawmakers can devote themselves fully to the campaign during the election period."
It also appears that there was no discussion about severing ties with former President Yoon Sukyeol. When asked about former party leader Han Donghoon and others mentioning a break between the party and Yoon, Seo responded, "I have not heard anything separately about that," and added, "It seems to be a personal opinion."
Previously, former President Yoon posted a message on social media calling for support for Kim. Regarding this, spokesperson Seo said, "It is natural for former President Yoon to make such remarks," and added, "There is nothing unusual about it."
