Official Election Campaign to Begin at Gwanghwamun on the First Day

Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, will officially launch his election campaign tomorrow at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, then visit Pangyo in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, Dongtan in Hwaseong, and Daejeon Metropolitan City in succession.

Kang Hunsik, Chief of the Central Election Countermeasures Committee's General Situation Room, stated at a press briefing at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 11th, "In Pangyo, there will be a brown bag meeting focused on innovation, while in Dongtan, the campaign will center on K-semiconductors," adding, "In Daejeon, the theme will be K-science and technology."

The Democratic Party has designated Gwanghwamun as a symbolic site of the so-called "Revolution of Light" and chosen it as the starting point for the official election campaign. The party will then continue its campaign in Pangyo, Dongtan, and Daejeon, grouping them as the so-called "K-Initiative Belt" to signify its commitment to building a leading economy.
