Lee Jaemyung Visits Hwasun, Jeonnam: "Still Fighting and Winning Against Insurrection"

"Appealing for Overwhelming Votes and Choices"

Lee Jaemyung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, stated on May 11, "Let us decisively defeat the anti-historical forces and anti-democratic republic forces, and build a country where the people are respected as the true owners."

On this day, during his visit to Hwasun-gun, Jeonnam, Lee said, "Shouldn't we create a real Republic of Korea where all the nation's capabilities are devoted solely to the people?"

Referring to the 5·18 Gwangju Democratization Movement, Lee remarked, "In May 1980, even after all security forces withdrew, for ten days there was not a single theft or act of violence. Instead, people shared rice balls and lived together, experiencing what a true community is."

Lee said, "A country that exists only for its people, where the people are the state and the state is the people, is what we call a democratic republic. Toward that kind of democratic republic, we prevailed even on December 3, when martial law was declared, and even now, we are fighting and winning against insurrection."

Lee emphasized, "Lee Jaemyung is merely a worker whom you have chosen to serve you. With overwhelming votes and overwhelming choices, create your own world for yourselves."
