Pohang City participated in 'InterBattery Europe 2025' held in Munich, Germany, accelerating the overseas expansion of local secondary battery companies and the expansion of their global networks.

'InterBattery Europe' is an international exhibition that began in 2023 to promote the competitiveness of the K-battery industry in the European market. This year, it was held at the Munich Messe Exhibition Center from May 7 to 9.
Targeting Europe, where there is strong interest in eco-friendly technology and sustainable energy, Pohang City operated a promotional booth for leading local companies, TwoN and ANPoly, to highlight the region's secondary battery technology capabilities.
TwoN is a company that simultaneously achieves high quality and eco-friendliness based on advanced water treatment technology essential for battery manufacturing processes.
ANPoly is an eco-friendly advanced materials company that has commercialized nanocellulose using discarded organic waste. The company is drawing attention for its growth potential in the field of secondary battery recycling.
During the exhibition, Pohang City held customized business meetings with local battery-related companies and investors together with the two companies, and engaged in practical discussions to expand technology cooperation and market channels in Europe.
In addition, following last year, Pohang City and Gyeongbuk Province visited the Fraunhofer IPA, the largest automation research institute in the European Union, and ReLioS, the German battery reuse and recycling association, to strengthen technology exchange and networking, further solidifying the foundation for cooperation in the secondary battery sector in Europe.
Based on the global business infrastructure secured through this exhibition, the city plans to promote the hosting of an international battery expo in the future and continue to support the overseas commercialization of local companies.
An official from Pohang City stated, "Outstanding local companies have created new opportunities in overseas markets and expanded their global networks through this exhibition," adding, "This event served as an important opportunity to showcase the technological prowess and innovative capabilities of Pohang's secondary battery industry to the world."
