Netflix Raises Korea Ad-Supported Plan Price by 27% from 5,500 to 7,000 Won

Basic Plan Now 12,000 Won
A 26% Increase

Global online video service (OTT) Netflix is raising the price of its ad-supported plan from 5,500 won per month to 7,000 won, a 27% increase. The Basic plan, which was previously 9,500 won per month, will be raised to 12,000 won, a 26% increase.

On May 9, Netflix announced that starting from this day in Korea, it would increase the prices of the Basic plan (launched in 2016) and the ad-supported Standard plan (launched in 2022) as described above. Other plans, such as Standard and Premium, will remain at their current prices.


Netflix plans to apply the new ad-supported Standard plan price to new subscribers starting from 10:00 a.m. on May 9. Existing subscribers will be individually notified via email, and the new prices will be applied sequentially according to each subscriber's billing cycle.


A Netflix representative stated, "We will continue to strive to provide a variety of plans and partnership products, such as Naver Plus Membership (4,900 won per month) and collaborations with telecommunications companies, so that each member can choose options that fit their lifestyle and viewing patterns."
