Second Place Among Counties in City and County Evaluation: 130 Million KRW Financial Incentive
First in City and County Tax Collection Rate, Prevention of Improper Taxation, and Policy Improvement Proposals
Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province has once again demonstrated its administrative capabilities by being consecutively selected as an 'Outstanding Institution' in various evaluations recently announced by South Chungcheong Province.
On May 9, Buyeo County announced that it had secured a financial incentive of 130 million KRW by ranking second among counties in the '2025 (2024 Performance) South Chungcheong Province City and County Evaluation.'
The South Chungcheong Province City and County Evaluation is conducted annually based on a total of 95 indicators, including 80 quantitative and 15 qualitative indicators, targeting 15 cities and counties within the province.
After thoroughly analyzing last year’s unmet and new indicators, the county strategically responded through progress report meetings and expert consulting, achieving excellent results in major indicators that assess the county’s overall administrative performance.
Buyeo County was also selected as an outstanding institution in the '2024 Comprehensive Local Tax Administration Evaluation' by South Chungcheong Province, receiving an institutional commendation and a reward of 16 million KRW.
The Comprehensive Local Tax Administration Evaluation assesses cities and counties that have contributed to securing and increasing local tax revenue, covering six areas. Buyeo County stood out by ranking first in city and county tax collection rate, first in preventing improper taxation, first in policy improvement proposals and implementation, and second in collection rate from high-value delinquents.
In particular, the county’s selection as an outstanding institution is even more meaningful considering the disadvantage of having a relatively small local tax base.
This year as well, the county has set targets for a total of 90 indicators?78 quantitative and 12 qualitative?and is focusing its administrative efforts on providing higher-quality public services to its residents.
County Governor Park Junghyun stated, "We were able to be selected as an outstanding institution thanks to every public official doing their best for the residents in their respective positions," adding, "All public officials will continue to work together to achieve even better results going forward."
