Gyeonggi Province will transform Suwon World Cup Stadium, the home ground of the professional football team Suwon Samsung Bluewings, into an 'eco-friendly stadium without disposable products.'
Starting from the match between Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Cheonan City FC on May 11, Gyeonggi Province and Suwon Samsung Bluewings will introduce reusable containers at all food trucks and concession stands inside the stadium.
Spectators who purchase food at the stadium will receive reusable containers instead of disposable ones. In particular, the reusable containers provided this time are designed in the symbolic 'blue' color of Suwon Samsung Bluewings, reflecting both fan spirit and an eco-friendly message.

The reusable containers will be provided for all menu items, regardless of the type of food. After finishing their food, spectators can return the containers to designated return bins installed throughout the stadium. A specialized cleaning company will collect the returned containers, wash and dry them through a seven-step high-temperature cleaning process, and then supply them for reuse.
To encourage the use of reusable containers, Gyeonggi Province will actively inform spectators about the return process and usage methods through the stadium's electronic display boards, banners, and staff members.
Gyeonggi Province will also hold various events for customers who use reusable containers to further promote their use.
Lee Yongyun, head of the Resource Circulation Division at Gyeonggi Province, said, "This is a great opportunity to reduce single-use products and foster an eco-friendly stadium culture together with the fans," adding, "We will use Suwon World Cup Stadium as a positive example and expand the introduction of reusable containers to other professional sports teams in the province."
