Online Applications Accepted Until May 16
Recruiting Seven Teams Within Three Years of (Prospective) Startup
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service announced on May 8 that they are accepting applications for the "2025 Art Korea Lab Shared Office Short-Term Residency Program" until May 16. This initiative aims to support arts enterprises and aspiring arts startups seeking to expand their businesses by integrating art and technology.
Art Korea Lab is a comprehensive support platform for artists and arts enterprises, established in October 2023 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service. The platform provides infrastructure such as office space and creation/performance spaces, as well as a variety of related support programs to help arts enterprises launch and grow their businesses stably. As part of these efforts, the short-term residency support program is designed for arts enterprises or teams that need to expand through technological integration. The program offers a six-month residency, access to production facilities, and customized growth support programs.
The recruitment targets and scale are as follows: approximately four arts×technology one-person enterprises established within the last three years, and about three prospective startup teams (with two to four members) in the arts×technology field. Applicants must not be employed at another company. Enterprises or teams wishing to participate must submit their application documents via email by 3:00 p.m. on May 16. Further details are available on the Korea Arts Management Service or Art Korea Lab websites under the announcements section.
Selected short-term residency enterprises or teams will be based at Art Korea Lab in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and will receive support including: shared office space (with full coverage of rent and management fees), priority booking of creation and production facilities, access to communal spaces such as meeting rooms and lounges, business/team diagnosis and one-on-one customized mentoring, business capacity-building education and business expansion programs (including business matching, pitching consulting, and demo days), and community programs (such as workshops and networking events).
Art Korea Lab also operates a weekly "Space Tour" program, allowing participants to tour key facilities such as creation studios, office spaces, and performance halls. Tours are held once each in the morning and afternoon on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and participation is available by advance reservation. Detailed information can be found in the "Space Tour Application" section on the Art Korea Lab website.
