Nine Korean Bio Ventures Present IR
Ministry of SMEs and Startups: "Synergy Expected from Technology and Experience"
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on May 8 that it held the "Korea-Japan Bio Cooperation Networking" event at the InterContinental Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
This event was organized as a follow-up to the "Korea-Japan Bio Ecosystem Roundtable" held in Tokyo, Japan, in February. Its purpose was to strengthen business partnerships and expand cooperation opportunities between Korea's innovative bio venture companies and Japan's global pharmaceutical companies.

Co-hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Shonan iPark of Japan, and organized by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), the event was attended by more than 50 bio industry stakeholders from both countries, including nine Korean bio venture companies with innovative technologies and eight Japanese pharmaceutical companies.
The event consisted of investment presentations (IR) by Korean bio venture companies and networking sessions between businesspeople from both countries. During the investment presentations, venture companies developing innovative drugs?such as AI for protein-based new drug design and immuno-oncology therapies?introduced their technologies and explored possibilities for collaboration with Japanese pharmaceutical companies.
Lim Jungwook, Director General for Startup and Venture Innovation at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "We hope that Korea's innovative bio technologies and Japan's extensive industrial experience will come together to create synergy."
Meanwhile, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has established and is operating a dedicated "Bio Team" within the organization to foster bio venture companies. Starting with this event, the ministry plans to continuously promote various programs to facilitate exchange and cooperation between Korean and Japanese bio companies.
