AliExpress User Numbers Stall... 11st Rises to Second Place

Coupang Down 0.7%, AliExpress Down 3.5%
11st Rises 2% to Take Second Place

Last month, the monthly active users (MAU) of AliExpress and Coupang decreased. In contrast, the number of users of 11st increased, allowing it to rise to second place, following Coupang, which remains in first place.

According to WiseApp Retail, a retail analytics service, on May 7, the number of users of 11st last month reached 8.93 million, marking a 2.0% increase compared to the previous month. In contrast, AliExpress recorded 8.8 million users, a 3.5% decrease from the previous month. Coupang, which ranks first among major e-commerce apps, had 33,391,000 users, a 0.7% decrease.


Although Coupang still overwhelmingly maintained its position as the number one platform in terms of user numbers, 11st surpassed AliExpress to become the second most-used platform.


Last month, Temu had 8.47 million users (4th place), up 2.1% from the previous month, and Gmarket had 7.05 million users (5th place), up 2.7%. Naver's shopping app, Naver Plus Store, which was launched in March, recorded 5.35 million users (6th place), a sharp increase of 58.6% from the previous month.


WiseApp Retail's MAU refers to the number of unique individuals who used the app during the month. Therefore, this figure differs from the actual number of purchasers.


Previously, on April 2, 11st upgraded and relaunched its app-tech game event "11Kitties Season 2." In addition, the platform introduced events such as E-Coupon Mega Day, Shudang Day discount promotions, and Family Month gift campaigns, which are believed to have contributed to increased customer inflow.
