Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province will host the 24th Hwangryonggang Gildongmu Flower Road Festival at the Hwangryong Garden outdoor stage from May 10 to 11. The highlight of this year's festival is the "Jangseong Music Festival," which will take place on May 11 starting at 4:30 p.m.

According to Jangseong County on May 7, two festivals are held every year along the Hwangryonggang River?one in spring and one in autumn. The "Gildongmu Flower Road Festival" in May and the "Autumn Flower Festival" in October are both designed around the concept of walking along the riverside scenery. To differentiate the spring festival, Jangseong County planned a music festival as a unique feature.

Since 2023, the county has installed a permanent stage in front of the musical fountain along the Hwangryonggang River and created a terraced lawn plaza centered on it. The gently sloped lawn plaza is designed to ensure unobstructed views and includes spaces where families can relax.

After setting up the stage, the county focused on carefully selecting the lineup of performers. Last year, by inviting "10cm" and "Soran," the festival broke away from the typical trot-centered lineup common at regional festivals, and received an enthusiastic response from the audience.

This year’s music festival will feature a total of seven acts, including the top-tier Korean rock band "Guckkasten," singer-songwriter "Car, the garden," Yudabinband, Bumkey, Yeonjeong, Lize, and Lee Jongmin.

Guckkasten is a psychedelic rock band known for its powerful high notes and dreamy sound. The members are vocalist Ha Hyunwoo, Jeon Kyuhyo, Lee Jeonggil, and Kim Kibum. The band’s name means "Chinese-style kaleidoscope" in German.

Car, the garden performs under a stage name that is the English transliteration of his real name, Cha Jungwon, and is recognized for both popularity and artistry thanks to his husky yet delicate vocal tone. R&B vocalist Bumkey and the emotive band Yudabinband will also fill the spring night with music.

Meanwhile, on May 9 at 6:00 p.m., a trot-centered pre-festival event will be held at the Hwangryong Garden outdoor stage, featuring Lee Chanwon, Yoon Suhyun, Lee Suho, and others.
