At the signing ceremony, Mayor Baek Kyunghyun said, "I am grateful that private financial institutions are joining us to overcome the low birth rate crisis, which is one of the biggest challenges facing South Korea."

The "Our Child Hope Savings Account Project" is a joint initiative between Guri City and Guri Saemaeul Geumgo to celebrate the birth of newborns. If a savings account is opened in the name of a newborn born in Guri City, a congratulatory grant is provided. Through this agreement, the grant amount will be increased from 70,000 won to 80,000 won starting from May 1, 2024.

This project began in 2018, and over the past seven years until the end of last year, a total of 1,075 newborns have benefited. It has been extended every year due to Mayor Baek's strong commitment. The city expects that such policies will contribute to making Guri a city where it is good to have and raise children.

Mayor Baek Kyunghyun stated, "We will continue to do our best, together with the local community, to encourage childbirth among citizens and to create a family-friendly social atmosphere."

Meanwhile, new applications for the Our Child Hope Savings Account are available for infants born after January 1 this year who reside in Guri City. Applications can be submitted at the main branch or any of the four local branches of Guri Saemaeul Geumgo.
