On May 4, Buchang Confectionery announced that it had achieved a record-breaking "Guinness sales" in the F&B business division of the Shinsegae Department Store Centum City branch. The brand's daily sales range from 18 million to 20 million KRW, with sales per pyeong reaching around 2 million KRW. This figure surpasses the sales per pyeong of major luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel, which range from 1 million to 1.5 million KRW.

Since opening its first store at Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam branch in October last year, Buchang Confectionery has expanded to branches in Daegu, Daejeon, and Starfield Suwon. The cumulative sales volume exceeded 100 million pieces within just five months.

The brand originally started as a bakery in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, 60 years ago, but ceased operations in the 1990s. Currently, Lee Kyungwon, the founder's grandson and CEO of FG, has relaunched the brand, and actor Lee Jangwoo is known to have participated in business planning and product development.

Buchang Confectionery plans to open stores in major Japanese department stores in the second half of the year and collaborate with local lifestyle companies. In the long term, the company is also pursuing entry into global markets such as the United States and Vietnam. Domestically, it aims to open approximately 10 additional stores by the first half of next year.

Lee Kyungwon, CEO of FG, stated, "We are considering establishing a scholarship fund centered on Gyeongju and building the Buchang Confectionery School," adding, "We will focus on promoting K-desserts to the world."
