Kim Moonsoo: "Democratic Party's Impeachment of Chief Justice Worse Than Hitler and Kim Jong-un... I Will Ensure Retribution"

Official Campaign Begins at National Cemetery
Aimed at Lee Jaemyung: "Brazen and Shameless"

Kim Moonsoo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, stated on the 4th regarding the Democratic Party's suggestion to impeach Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Heedae, "This is worse than Hitler and even worse than Kim Jong-un," adding, "I will make sure to hold them accountable."

After visiting the graves of former presidents at the Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, Kim told reporters, "Why are they trying to drag this great nation down to a level worse than the countries of Hitler, Kim Jong-un, Stalin, or Xi Jinping?" He added, "The Republic of Korea is not a country that can be taken lightly."

He continued, "Have you ever heard of Kim Jong-un impeaching a chief justice? Has Xi Jinping ever done such a thing? I have never heard that even Stalin did this," he emphasized. He also said, "In which country in the world does someone take over the entire legislature and keep impeaching the president? And now, on top of that, they are trying to impeach the chief justice?what exactly are they trying to do?"

The previous day, 'The Mincho,' a group of first-term lawmakers from the Democratic Party, held a press conference condemning the Supreme Court's decision to remand the case involving Lee Jaemyung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, for retrial with a guilty verdict under the Public Official Election Act. They stated, "The excessive procedures and biased judgment of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Cho run counter to the public's sense of justice and common sense. We will immediately initiate impeachment proceedings against Chief Justice Cho."

Regarding Lee's criticism the previous day that Kim's nomination as a candidate was "going against the constitutional order," Kim responded, "That is shameless and brazen," and insisted, "I have always tried to understand what the Constitution of this country is, what is the right way to uphold it, and to live my life righteously."

Meanwhile, Kim was elected as the final presidential candidate of the People Power Party at the party convention the previous day, defeating former party leader Han Donghoon with a combined vote share of 56.53%.
