Chosun University Hospital announced on the 3rd that it held the "2025 Medical Data Research Activation Plan and Cooperation Model Sharing Symposium."
The symposium, which took place on the 30th of last month at the Ramada Plaza Chungjang Hotel, was organized to promote research based on medical data and to spread public-private cooperation models. The event was attended by more than 50 participants, including representatives from medical institutions, researchers, and industry experts.
The event began with welcoming remarks from Kim Jin-ho, Director of Chosun University Hospital, and Ko Jae-woong, Director of the Biomedical Research Institute. This was followed by a series of presentations covering a range of topics, from the national strategic direction for healthcare big data to actual cases of collaboration between hospitals and companies.
During the symposium, Jung Jib-min, Director at the Korea Health Information Service, shared strategies for innovation and activation of artificial intelligence in healthcare data, as well as trends and directions for national support of medical research. Hyuk Hyun, Professor at Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, presented on the use and future prospects of Large Language Models (LLMs) in the medical domain.
In addition, Woojin Park, Director at Gwangju Technopark, explained the current status and cases of the Gwangju Medi-Healthcare industry, emphasizing the importance of regional digital medi-health strategies. Yongjin Cho, Director of the K-Health AI Business Center at Chosun University Hospital, gave a detailed presentation on the construction of the K-Health project dataset at Chosun University Hospital, which was met with great interest.
A progress report on the Clinical Data Warehouse (CDW) project currently being promoted by Chosun University Hospital was also presented, raising expectations among the attendees. After the presentations, an in-depth discussion on the development direction of medical data-based research and ways to expand industry cooperation took place, moderated by Choi Nam-gyu, Deputy Director of Chosun University Hospital.
Kim Jin-ho, Director of Chosun University Hospital, stated, "This symposium was a meaningful opportunity to confirm the potential of research cooperation models utilizing medical data," and added, "We will continue to lead the creation of a digital healthcare ecosystem at both the regional and national levels."
