Random Selection from Over 15,000 Taxpayers with No Delinquencies in the Past Three Years
Promoting the Spread of a Diligent Tax Payment Culture
Sangju City in North Gyeongsang Province has selected 100 citizens who diligently paid their local taxes through a computerized lottery and will present them with Onnuri gift certificates as a token of appreciation.

The city announced on May 2 that the recipients were chosen in accordance with the "Ordinance on Support for Diligent Taxpayers in Sangju City" to promote a voluntary tax payment culture and provide incentives to diligent taxpayers.
This lottery was conducted randomly using a computerized system at 10:00 a.m. on May 1 in the small meeting room of Sangju City Hall, with Mayor Youngseok Kang of Sangju in attendance.
The eligible pool consisted of 15,196 taxpayers who have paid at least 100,000 won annually in local taxes over the past three years and have no record of delinquency. From this group, 100 final recipients were selected.
The winners will receive a congratulatory letter and a 50,000-won Onnuri gift certificate sent by registered mail.
Mayor Youngseok Kang said, "I deeply appreciate the citizens who have faithfully paid their taxes despite difficult economic conditions," adding, "We will responsibly use the valuable taxes paid by our citizens for the development of city administration and the welfare of our residents."
The city plans to continue providing institutional support to foster a social atmosphere that recognizes diligent taxpayers and to establish a culture of voluntary tax compliance.
