Asiana Airlines Employees and Families Also Invited
"Efforts to Create a Family-Friendly Corporate Culture"
On May 2, Korean Air announced that it will host the "2025 Family Day" event by opening its headquarters hangar in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and its Busan Tech Center hangar to employees and their families. Employees and families of Asiana Airlines, which has now become part of the same group, will also participate.

This year, the company has expanded the scale, locations, and number of participants for the event. Previously held only at the headquarters hangar, the event will now also take place in Busan, and the duration has been extended by two days compared to last year. The event will run in Seoul until May 5, and will be held in Busan for one day on May 6. Employees and families of Asiana Airlines who wish to participate are also invited, and the total number of participants is expected to reach 20,000, an increase of 7,000 from last year.
The hangar, transformed into a theme park, features children's rides, a family photo studio, a Morning Calm photo booth, a family employee ID kiosk, balloon art, face painting, and food trucks. There is also an exhibition hall introducing Korean Air's new corporate identity (CI) unveiled for the first time in 41 years, as well as opportunities to try on cabin and flight crew uniforms, and visit a joint venture (JV) booth with Delta Air Lines.
Unmanned aerial vehicles, which are not usually accessible to the public, will also be on display. At the headquarters hangar, models of the medium-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (KUS-FS), division-level UAV (KUS-FT), low-observable unmanned combat aerial vehicle (KUS-FC), low-observable unmanned wingman (KUS-LW), and hybrid drone (KUS-HD) will be exhibited. The inspection drone (KUS-SID) will be displayed as an actual aircraft, and the vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (KUS-VS) will be shown as a scaled model. The Airbus A220-300, which operates on medium- and short-haul routes, will also be showcased.
At the Busan Tech Center, various unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as fighter jets and helicopters maintained by Korean Air, will be displayed in real form. Programs will include drone basketball (a new sport where drones play the role of the ball), a hands-on hang glider-making experience, drone prize events, and outdoor ball games.
A Korean Air representative stated, "We hope this event will enhance understanding of the workplace among family members, foster a sense of belonging and pride among employees, and provide an opportunity for employees of both companies to communicate and connect ahead of the integration." The representative added, "We will continue to pursue changes to create a family-friendly corporate culture where work and family life can coexist."
