At the exhibition, Daesang operated booths for its kimchi brand 'Jongga' and its global food brand 'O'food.' The company stated, "During the event, the 'Jongga' and 'O'food' booths attracted a large number of local buyers," adding, "In particular, we held discussions with buyers from major local distribution channels, such as Loblaw and Costco, regarding branch expansion and the addition of new products." Currently, 'Jongga' kimchi and 'O'food' sauces and pastes are available at major Canadian distribution channels, including Costco, Walmart, Loblaw, Sobeys, and T&T.
On site, tasting events featured Jongga's signature products, such as 'Mat Kimchi,' 'Hanip Chonggak Kimchi,' 'LF (Lightly Fermented) Baek Kimchi,' and 'Crunch Kimchi' served as canapes, as well as reinterpretations of traditional Korean sauces like 'Gochujang Ranch' and 'Ssamjang Mayo,' which received positive responses from local buyers. In addition, a variety of Korean snack dishes, including 'Jongga Kimchi Ramen,' known for its refreshing flavor with Jongga kimchi, and 'Jang Ramen,' noted for its authentic sauce flavor, were also well received.
Lee Kyungae, Head of the Global Kimchi Business Division at Daesang, said, "Participating in SIAL Canada 2025 was a great opportunity to widely promote the excellence of Jongga and O'food products in the North American market and to engage with local buyers." She added, "Having confirmed our global competitiveness in the North American market, we will continue to pursue differentiated strategies, such as developing products tailored to local tastes and expanding our distribution network, to further increase global export opportunities."
