The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is expanding the "Gyeonggi Shared School University-Linked Program," which is currently being operated to support students in systematic career exploration and academic planning.
The Gyeonggi Shared School University-Linked Program is designed to provide students with high-quality education and in-depth learning by utilizing educational resources such as the expertise and facilities of universities. Through this program, students are able to concretize their career paths in a variety of fields, including humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, science and technology, arts and physical education, and interdisciplinary studies.
Starting in May, the Office of Education plans to expand the program, which is currently being run in cooperation with approximately 40 universities in the province, by adding about 90 new programs. This expansion aims to provide customized education that reflects student demand.
In particular, the Office of Education will strengthen the customized learning system this year by dividing the program into basic and advanced courses according to students' academic levels and career interests. The basic course is open to students from third grade in elementary school to third grade in high school, and will be operated in 12 sessions, an increase from the previous number of sessions. The advanced course is available to high school students and will be expanded to 20 sessions.
An official from the Office of Education stated, "We will strengthen support so that students can concretize their career paths through a variety of educational programs outside of school and develop core competencies for the future society by connecting with local university resources."
