Busan Regional Veterans Office (headed by Lee Namil) and the Busan-Ulsan Headquarters of Korea Electric Power Corporation (headed by Kim Jaegun) held the opening ceremony of 'Bobi House No. 141' on April 30, 2025, at the home of Mr. Yoo, a Korean War veteran living in Gangseo-gu, Busan.
Mr. Yoo, who is 95 years old this year, had been experiencing significant inconvenience due to limited mobility and the deteriorated condition of his home. In response, Busan Regional Veterans Office, with support from the Busan-Ulsan Headquarters of Korea Electric Power Corporation, funds provided through the Community Chest of Korea, and voluntary donations from the office's staff, carried out improvements to his living environment. These included replacing the kitchen cabinets, wallpapering, and installing new lighting fixtures.
Mr. Yoo expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thanks to your help, my house is now clean and I no longer feel anxious in the kitchen. I am truly grateful to the Busan-Ulsan Headquarters of Korea Electric Power Corporation and Busan Regional Veterans Office."
'Bobi House' is a specialized project led by Busan Regional Veterans Office to improve residential conditions. It was first launched in October 2007, and this year marks the 141st home provided through the initiative.
The Veterans Office plans to continue its efforts to improve the living conditions of low-income, elderly veterans' families in the Busan area by expanding public-private cooperation and through long-term projects such as the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs' 'Moduui Bohun Dream' donation initiative.
