Six Categories of Competition, A Festival Created Together with the Community and Families

Today is 'NadoStar'... Geumcheon District Holds Singing Contest for Children and Youth Yuseonghoon, head of Geumcheon District Office, is presenting a certificate of commendation to an award-winning child at an event last year.

Geumcheon District Office (headed by Yuseonghoon) announced that the 14th Geumcheon NadoStar Singing Contest will be held on May 9 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Geumnarae Art Hall.

The contest has been organized to celebrate the 103rd Children's Day and Youth Month in May, providing children and adolescents with the opportunity to experience performing on stage and creating a local festival where diverse families can participate together.

Eligible participants are children and adolescents aged 5 through third grade of middle school who either reside in Geumcheon District or attend a local school. This year, the scope has been expanded to include various types of families and community teams, and the contest will be divided into a total of six categories: preschool, elementary solo (lower and upper grades), elementary ensemble, middle school, and community/family.

The preliminary round was held on April 11 as a non-face-to-face video screening, with a total of 111 participants from 50 teams competing enthusiastically. Of these, 91 participants from 30 teams were selected through judging and will advance to the finals, where they will compete on stage at Geumnarae Art Hall.

The finals will proceed in the order of competition by category, congratulatory performances, and an awards ceremony. The congratulatory performances will include a stage by last year's grand prize winner as well as a magic show, adding to the excitement of the event.

A total of 30 teams will be awarded. Among all categories, one team will receive the grand prize, and for each category, gold, silver, and bronze prizes will be awarded, with the Geumcheon District Mayor's Award being presented.

Yuseonghoon, head of Geumcheon District Office, stated, "I hope this contest will provide children and adolescents with a valuable experience to fully showcase their hidden talents and build confidence," adding, "We will continue to provide various forms of support so that children can pursue their dreams."

Meanwhile, last year, a total of 77 participants from 66 teams took part, with 41 participants from 30 teams advancing to the finals and 37 participants from 27 teams receiving awards.
