The May event, introduced in 2019, has established itself as the most prominent e-commerce discount event in the first half of the year. This year, the event will run for one week starting from May 7, right after the May golden holiday period ends.

Gmarket will hold the 'Smile Lottery' event, where up to 1 million won in Smile Cash will be awarded daily. This event is open to all Gmarket members and provides cash that can be used like real money on Gmarket. Each ID can participate once per day through the Gmarket Big Smile Day main page. Smile Cash prizes will be awarded randomly in denominations of 1 million won, 50,000 won, and 10,000 won.

Members of Gmarket's 'Shinsegae Universe Club' can also participate in the daily 'Big Smile Day Prize Draw Event.' This event runs from the 7th to the 13th, and membership holders with a purchase history on Gmarket on the day of entry can participate once per day. The prizes change daily and include products that have received positive responses in previous Big Smile Day events, such as the Roborock robot vacuum cleaner.
