This agreement focuses on several key areas: joint research cooperation in fields of mutual interest such as clean hydrogen technology; collaboration on national research and development projects; mutual exchange of technology and personnel; and the cultivation of specialized professionals in science and technology.

The School of Convergence Engineering and the Department of Chemical Engineering at Chung-Ang University will jointly promote the development of full-cycle convergence technologies for hydrogen production, storage, and utilization together with the Clean Hydrogen Convergence Research Center, a mission-oriented research institute of KIST.

Through follow-up agreements between research departments, the two institutions plan to identify detailed research projects and establish a foundation for cooperation aimed at producing tangible research outcomes and nurturing future talent at a global level.

Sangrok Oh, Director of KIST, stated, "If researchers from the Clean Hydrogen Convergence Research Center and professors from Chung-Ang University collaborate, it will make a significant national contribution to realizing a hydrogen economy by reducing hydrogen introduction costs and improving efficiency."

Sangkyu Park, President of Chung-Ang University, said, "I expect that collaboration with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, a globally leading research institution, will provide a meaningful opportunity for Chung-Ang University to take a further leap forward as a research-centered university."

Meanwhile, Chung-Ang University and KIST laid the foundation for their partnership by establishing a joint master's and doctoral program in academia-industry collaboration in 2015.
