Kim Moonsoo: "I will fulfill Hong's intentions"
Key figures from the campaign team of former Daegu Mayor Hong Joonpyo, who was eliminated in the second primary of the People Power Party's presidential race, declared their support for former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moonsoo on the 30th. Na Kyungwon, a People Power Party lawmaker who also ran in the primary, will join Kim's camp as well.
On the morning of the 30th, Yoo Sangbeom, a People Power Party lawmaker who served as chief of operations for Hong's campaign, and others held a "Declaration of Support for Kim Moonsoo" press conference at Kim's campaign office in Daehwa Building, Yeouido, Seoul.

Major figures who have declared their support for Kim include Kim Daesik, who served as chief of staff in Hong's campaign; Baek Jongheon, who was head of health and welfare; Kim Wisang, who was head of labor; Lee Youngsoo, president of the Saemijun Central Association and former head of general support; and Kim Seondong, former lawmaker and former head of organization.
Yoo stated, "After former Mayor Hong was eliminated from the primary yesterday, the core headquarters chiefs gathered for a meeting and decided to support candidate Kim Moonsoo." He added, "We agreed with Kim's advocacy for a unified 'big tent' and recognized that he represents the only winning formula for a conservative candidate." Former lawmaker Kim said, "Until yesterday, I was a loser, but today I will strive to become a winner. I will devote myself entirely to the cause."
Kim Moonsoo said, "Many outstanding people have come today," and added, "I will take on former Mayor Hong's intentions and work to fulfill them." He continued, "I believe politics is ultimately done by people. It is not something only those with particularly strong hearts can do. Former Mayor Hong has much to contribute and is highly capable. I believe we must work together to realize our shared vision, save the Republic of Korea, and continue working for the happiness of our country."
On this day, lawmaker Na Kyungwon is also expected to declare her support for Kim. Yoon Sanghyun, who joined the camp earlier, stated, "Both the Kim Moonsoo and Hong Joonpyo camps share a comradely stance in the struggle to defend our system," and added, "We will unite all our forces to defeat Lee Jaemyung and the Democratic Party of Korea, and set the Republic of Korea on the right path."
