Applications for Gyeonggi Youth Basic Income of Up to 1 Million Won per Year Open for Second Quarter Starting May 1

Gyeonggi Province will accept applications for the second quarter (April to June) of this year's 'Youth Basic Income,' which provides 250,000 won per quarter, up to a maximum of 1 million won per year, to 24-year-old youths. The application period is from May 1 to May 30.

Eligible applicants are those who, as of the application date, have their resident registration in Gyeonggi Province and are 24 years old as of April 1, 2025, having been born between April 2 and December 31, 2000.

Applicants must have either continuously resided in Gyeonggi Province for at least three years or have a total residency period of at least ten years. Foreign nationals and those with unknown residence status are excluded. For those born in 2001, applications will be accepted in July.

Applications can be submitted online via the Gyeonggi Job Platform Jobaba (apply.jobaba.net), with the submission period running from 9:00 a.m. on May 1 to 6:00 p.m. on May 30.

The required document, a resident registration transcript (issued after May 1 and including address history for the past five years or the entire period), will be submitted automatically if applicants consent to the public MyData service. Recipients of basic livelihood benefits must submit the relevant certificate separately.

Previous recipients who agreed to automatic application in the last quarter will be automatically included in the review without a separate application. However, if there has been a change in personal information or if retroactive application is desired for the third quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025, information must be updated during this application period. In addition, those who were not selected in the previous quarter are not eligible for automatic application and must submit a new application.

The Youth Basic Income is provided in the same amount regardless of employment or graduation status, as well as income or asset levels.

After verifying eligibility requirements such as age and residency period, Gyeonggi Province will notify the final selected youths of the results by text message and provide up to 1 million won per year in local currency, either as an electronic card or in mobile form. Of this, the second quarter payment of 250,000 won will be distributed starting June 20.

Meanwhile, youths in Seongnam, where the ordinance for Youth Basic Income was abolished in July 2023, and in Goyang, which was unable to allocate a related budget this year, are excluded from this round of applications.
