Kim Juhyung spoke candidly about his recent slump.

At the official press conference for the PGA Tour's CJ Cup Byron Nelson (total prize money of $9.9 million), held on April 29 (local time) at TPC Craig Ranch (par 71, 7,569 yards) near Dallas, Texas, Kim said, "Since last fall, I've wanted to make some changes, so I've been trying new things," and added, "I'm patiently testing what I need to improve for the long run."

Kim Juhyung is a player who has collected three career wins on the PGA Tour, including becoming the youngest to win twice (at 20 years and 3 months old). He is a highly competitive 'young gun.' With his fluent English and energetic play, he has emerged as a 'hot player' in the global golf scene. In September 2022, he also showcased outstanding skills at the Presidents Cup, a men's golf competition between the International team (excluding the United States and Europe) and the United States. His roar after making two consecutive eagles in two matches left a strong impression.

However, Kim has struggled somewhat this year. He has played in 10 tournaments but has only finished in the top 10 once. His best result was a tie for seventh at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. He has also missed the cut three times. In his most recent tournament, the Masters, which ended on April 13, he finished tied for 52nd.

Kim also shared his determination for this tournament. "Overall, you have to hit your shots well on this course, and it's important to create a lot of opportunities," he said. "I think Korean players have had many chances to win because they tend to make a lot of good shots." Regarding his goals for the rest of the season, he emphasized, "Of course, it's important to get good results, but I also want to become stronger mentally and in terms of my skills. I want to become so tough that even if I'm pricked with a needle, I won't bleed."
