The city of Mungyeong announced on April 29 that from April 14 to 19, a delegation of about 20 people, including Mayor Shin Hyunguk, City Council Chairman Lee Jeonggeol, and related officials, visited Salatiga City to strengthen international friendship and cooperation between the two cities.

During this visit, Mungyeong City held detailed discussions with Salatiga City on dispatching an international cultural experience group for middle school students during the winter vacation period.

Mungyeong City decided to implement this program to address the lack of international cultural experience among local youth and to provide opportunities to develop global awareness.

Mayor Shin Hyunguk and his delegation made an official visit to the administrative offices of Salatiga City and attended special events organized locally, laying the groundwork for expanding practical exchanges between the two cities.

Since 2007, Mungyeong City has operated a specialized education policy that sends outstanding local high school students to visit prestigious overseas universities and participate in cultural experience programs. This initiative has contributed to broadening the international perspective and cultural understanding of youth, receiving strong support from students and parents.

Mayor Shin emphasized, "The city will actively support our youth so they can experience diverse international cultures and grow into future global talent," and added, "We will focus all administrative resources to realize the nation's best educational city."

This expansion of international exchange is expected to enhance the cultural sensitivity and open-mindedness of Mungyeong's youth.
