Supreme Court Sets Sentencing Date for Election Law Case... Lee Jae Myung Says "They Will Follow the Law"

The Supreme Court has set the date for the sentencing of the appeal trial regarding Lee Jae Myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, who is accused of violating the Public Official Election Act. In response, Lee stated, "They will follow the law."

Lee made this remark to reporters after attending a trial on the Daejangdong, Wirye, Baekhyeondong, and Seongnam FC cases, which was presided over by Chief Judge Lee Jin Kwan of the 33rd Criminal Division at the Seoul Central District Court on this day.


Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on Lee's appeal for the Public Official Election Act violation at 3:00 p.m. on May 1 in the main courtroom. This decision comes 34 days after the case was filed with the Supreme Court on March 28, and 9 days after it was referred to the full bench on April 22.
