Operation of AX Clinic and AX Forum
Support for GPU Infrastructure, Field-Oriented AI Expansion
The "Busan AX Lab Opening Ceremony," jointly organized by Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (President Kim Taeyeol), was held.
With the opening of this lab, the digital transformation of the region's manufacturing industry is expected to accelerate in earnest.
Busan AX Lab is a core hub for integrating AI technology into the local manufacturing sector, established as part of the "Manufacturing AI Convergence Infrastructure Project" led by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Yoo Sangim) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (President Park Yoonkyu).
Located on the 5th floor of the Promotion Agency, AX Lab is a 287-square-meter complex space equipped with exhibition, meeting, development, and lounge areas. It serves as a practical innovation platform where local manufacturing companies and AI solution developers can meet, receive technical consulting, and collaborate.
The main programs include "AX Clinic" and "AX Forum." AX Clinic provides expert consulting on AI adoption for manufacturing companies and supports solution providers in developing AI solutions tailored to manufacturing plants. AX Forum is a regular networking event where demand companies, solution providers, and startups can share the latest AI technology trends and engage in business matching.
At the first AX Forum, held alongside the opening ceremony, participants shared case studies of AI solution adoption in the local manufacturing sector and discussed AI utilization strategies specialized for the machinery parts industry. The Promotion Agency plans to hold the Busan AX Forum regularly every month going forward.
In addition, a high-performance GPU-based AI infrastructure will be established to help local companies actively utilize AI resources. This infrastructure can be accessed by applying through the Busan AX Lab website.
The event was attended by key representatives from Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Regional Headquarters of Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Standards Association, the Busan Venture Business Association, Siemens, and other major organizations and companies, who engaged in in-depth discussions with the Promotion Agency on digital innovation strategies for the region's manufacturing industry.
Meanwhile, on the same morning, the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency and Busan Facilities Corporation (President Lee Seongrim) signed a business agreement to promote AI transformation of public facilities and services. Through this agreement, the two organizations will closely cooperate in various fields, including discovering joint projects based on AI and AX, nurturing global digital talent, and advancing services based on innovative technologies.
Kim Taeyeol, President of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "The opening of Busan AX Lab marks a turning point where local manufacturers can experience AI technology firsthand and pursue innovation," adding, "We will spare no effort to support solving on-site manufacturing challenges with AI and building a competitive digital ecosystem through AX Lab."
