Reservation Required... Available from May 1 to 31
Buan County in North Jeolla Province is offering a 50% discount on tourist taxis in May to celebrate Family Month, the peak spring travel season, and the representative festival, the Buan Masil Festival.
According to the county on April 29, this event will run from May 1 to May 31. Any tourist, except Buan residents, can use the Buan tourist taxi at half the total fare during this period.

The discounted fares are as follows: the 3-hour course is reduced from 60,000 won to 30,000 won, the 5-hour course from 100,000 won to 50,000 won, and the 6-hour course from 120,000 won to 60,000 won. This significant reduction allows visitors to leisurely explore Buan's diverse attractions at a reasonable cost.
The tourist taxi service operates on a reservation basis, and a major advantage is that the course can be flexibly adjusted according to each traveler's itinerary.
As a transportation service specialized for local tourism, the tourist taxi is operated by drivers who are well-acquainted with the area. They guide visitors to major tourist sites, popular restaurants, and experience venues, offering customized courses for travelers. The service is especially popular among middle-aged and older travelers, as well as families, and is enhancing satisfaction with Buan trips through friendly service and convenient transportation.
Meanwhile, on April 28, the county launched the "Tourist Taxi Integrity Operation Pledge Campaign" to raise the service standards of tourist taxis and foster a culture of integrity in transportation. All tourist taxi drivers signed a pledge of integrity and participated in a campaign in front of the county office, publicly committing to transparent and trustworthy tourist taxi service.
The pledge includes practical commitments such as providing courteous service, protecting tourists' privacy, prohibiting the acceptance of money or valuables, and banning the coercion of visitors to specific businesses. Through these efforts, Buan's tourist taxis are evolving beyond simple transportation to become exemplary public services.
In addition, the county conducts regular training for tourist taxi drivers every year, focusing on courteous service, safety response, and enhancing tourism guidance capabilities. As a result, drivers' professionalism and service satisfaction are continuously improving.
County Governor Kwon Ikhyeon stated, "We hope that this discount event and the integrity campaign held in conjunction with the Buan Masil Festival will further increase trust and satisfaction with Buan's tourist taxi service," adding, "We will continue to link various tourism resources and transportation infrastructure to make Buan an even more convenient and enjoyable travel destination."
