Congressman Jung Sung Ho Mistaken for Comedian Jung Sung Ho
Tag Deleted Immediately After Mistake Revealed
People Power Party to Announce Two Finalists on April 29

Han Donghoon, a candidate in the People Power Party's presidential primary, made a mistake by tagging Congressman Jung Sung Ho of the Democratic Party?who shares the same name as comedian Jung Sung Ho?in a social media post featuring a photo taken with the comedian at the Coupang Play "SNL Korea" recording. On the 28th, Congressman Jung Sung Ho posted a screenshot of Han's post on his own social networking service (SNS), writing, "Candidate Han Donghoon, I also enjoyed watching SNL, but I am not that Jung Sung Ho. Please take this into account during your campaign."

Earlier, Han had uploaded a photo with Jung Sung Ho to his SNS, adding hashtags such as "So that's what I look like," "mirror therapy," "reflection," and "it was fun." However, during the process of tagging people, he mistakenly tagged Congressman Jung Sung Ho, a pro-Lee Jae-myung figure, instead of the comedian. It appears that after searching for the name, Han confused the comedian with Congressman Jung, who appeared at the top of the search results and had a blue verification badge indicating public figure status.

After this mistake became known, Han's team deleted the tag. A representative from Han's side stated, "It appears to have been a practical mistake." Previously, on the 26th, Han appeared in the Coupang Play segment "The Branch Manager Goes." He participated as a convenience store job applicant and answered a variety of questions in an interview format.

During a quick-thinking test in which he was asked to choose between a declaration of martial law and over 30 impeachment attempts as examples of problematic behavior in a convenience store, Han chose the declaration of martial law. While observing comedian Jung Sung Ho mimicking his speaking style, Han remarked, "Oh, do I really act like that? Making that kind of face in front of someone is really irritating." On the 27th, Han shared the video on Facebook, writing, "I thought I was looking in a mirror..."

Meanwhile, on April 29, the People Power Party will announce the two candidates who will advance to the final round among the four presidential primary candidates. The primary race dynamics are expected to change significantly depending on which candidates advance to the final round: Kim Moonsoo and Hong Junpyo, who opposed the impeachment of former President Yoon Seokyeol, or Ahn Cheolsoo and Han Donghoon, who supported the impeachment. The People Power Party will announce the two finalists at 2 p.m. on April 29, based on the results of two days of voting and public opinion surveys conducted on April 27 and 28.

The party member vote and the public opinion survey each account for 50%. If a candidate receives a majority of the votes, they will be confirmed as the presidential nominee immediately. However, since there is no overwhelming frontrunner, many expect that no candidate will secure a majority. According to a Realmeter poll commissioned by Energy Economy News and conducted from April 23 to 25 among 1,505 adults nationwide (with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of ±2.5 percentage points), the "big three"?Kim (13.4%), Hong (10.2%), and Han (9.7%)?were in a close race within the margin of error. Ahn was recorded at 2.5%.
