Various Events Including Commemorative Ceremony and Hands-on Activities
On May 5, 2025, to celebrate the 103rd Children's Day, the "2025 Ulsan Children's Day Grand Festival" will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the South Gate Plaza of Ulsan Grand Park.
This event, which is expected to bring together around 20,000 children, families, and citizens, will feature a commemorative ceremony, a variety of hands-on activities, and an awards ceremony honoring exemplary children and contributors to child welfare.
For the exemplary children awards, two children including Park Eunseo will receive commendations from the Minister of Health and Welfare, while fourteen children including Lee Seokjun will each receive commendations from the Mayor.
In addition, four contributors to child welfare, including Shin Jeonghwa from Haenuri Regional Children's Center, will be recognized with commendations from the Mayor of Ulsan.
After the official ceremony, a variety of celebratory performances will take place, including a magic show, children's cheerleading, a Taekwondo demonstration team, and musical jump rope. These programs are designed to add meaning to Children's Day by providing entertainment for the whole family.
Alongside these events, under the theme "Ulsan, City of Dreams: Dreaming Green Garden Playground," a range of experience booths will be operated to help children in Ulsan, the garden city, cultivate a love for nature and the environment. These include a mini garden, a little gardener and dinosaur garden photo zone, mini flowerpot making, and craft experiences using recycled plastic waste.
Additionally, there will be career experience booths for police officers, firefighters, and weathercasters, as well as Fourth Industrial Revolution experience booths such as virtual reality (VR) and satirical caricature (AI caricature), along with booths operated by public interest organizations.
A city official stated, "This Children's Day event in Ulsan, the garden city, offers a variety of fun and engaging hands-on programs so that children can appreciate the importance of the global environment through experience and nurture their dreams and hopes. We hope many citizens will participate and make it a meaningful day."
