Discussion on Local Pending Projects and More
Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province held an "Invited Policy Meeting with Congressman Shin Sungbum" in the main conference room of the county office.
The meeting, which took place on April 28, was organized to share major projects for regional development and to discuss strategies for securing national funding.
About 40 people attended the meeting, including Congressman Shin Sungbum, County Governor Lee Seunghwa, Chairman of the Sancheong County Council Kim Suhan, Provincial Assemblyman Shin Jongcheol, county council members, and senior officials. They engaged in in-depth discussions on local pending projects and the inclusion of major 2026 projects in the government budget.
The main topics discussed included the construction of a new pumped-storage power plant in Sancheong, the Jirisan Sancheong cable car installation project, the construction of National Road No. 20 between Sicheon and Danseong, the construction of National Road No. 59 between Sancheong and Chahwang, and the improvement of the Jungchon District intersection in Sancheong. The county requested active support from the National Assembly to ensure the smooth progress of these projects.
In addition, the necessity of national funding was emphasized for several projects: the construction of the Sancheong Bandabi Sports Center, expansion of municipal solid waste incineration facilities, Ok-san District (specialized regeneration type) urban regeneration project, Daepo and Sancheong District integrated disaster risk management project for flood-prone areas, Jayang and Gangong 1 District disaster risk improvement project, construction of the Geumho River Baekrigil Trail (Bangmok District), expansion of the wastewater treatment system in the Oejeong District rural village, and the expansion of the Danseong agricultural machinery rental center.
Based on the discussions from this meeting, Sancheong County plans to establish strategies to secure next year's national funding and will continue to consult with the central government.
Congressman Shin Sungbum stated, "I will spare no effort in supporting the long-awaited projects of Sancheong residents," adding, "I will do my utmost in my parliamentary activities to ensure that these pending projects can proceed smoothly."
County Governor Lee Seunghwa said, "To improve the quality of life for residents and achieve sustainable development, we will continue to communicate with the local congressman, the National Assembly, the government, and South Gyeongsang Province," and added, "We will do our best to realize a Sancheong where all residents are happy."
