Kim Hanmo, Chairman of HMG Group, Appointed Head of Real Estate Development Association's 20th Anniversary Project Group

The Korea Real Estate Development Association announced on April 28 that it has officially launched a commemorative project group to prepare for events marking the association's 20th anniversary.

The Real Estate Development Association was established in 2005 with the goal of advancing real estate development projects and improving the rights and interests of the industry. It is a statutory organization under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and serves as the representative body of the real estate development industry. On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the commemorative project group held an event to reflect on the association's history and to engage with key contributors and partner organizations. The group also decided to pursue various planning and operational initiatives aimed at redefining the perception of 'real estate developers,' addressing industry challenges, enhancing the association's status, and strengthening market transparency.

The project group is organized around a head, a deputy head, and advisory members, and is divided into subcommittees for planning, public relations, academic affairs, external cooperation, finance, and publishing. A total of 48 people are participating. Kim Hanmo, Chairman of HMG Group and Kansus Asset Management, has been appointed as the head of the project group. Kim Daegun, Chairman of Re-Gun Group, serves as deputy head, and Lee Changmin, a special professor at Hanyang University and chief professor of the Advanced Program in Creative City Real Estate Convergence, has been appointed as an advisory member.

Kim Daegun, deputy head of the project group, will also serve as chair of the planning committee. Son Myungik, Chairman of Sungho Group, will serve as chair of the public relations committee; Kim Kyungmin, professor at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Seoul National University, will serve as chair of the academic committee; Lee Rakseung, CEO of Baeksang Housing Construction, will serve as chair of the external cooperation committee; Hwang Geunho, Vice Chairman of Miraein, will serve as chair of the finance committee; and Kim Sugyeong, Chairman of Glostar, will serve as chair of the publishing committee. The association plans to hold a 20th anniversary commemorative event in October. Kim Hanmo, head of the project group, stated, "The commemorative event in October will serve as a watershed moment for the Korean developer industry to take a significant step forward."
