Nominations Open for Exemplary Residents and Organizations Contributing to Community Development Until May 14
Award Categories Expanded to Eight... Highlighting Various Fields Including Community Development, Donations, and Volunteer Work
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyungho) is publicly accepting nominations for candidates for the '30th Gwangjin-gu Citizen Award' until May 14, in order to discover residents and organizations who have contributed to the development of the local community.
The Gwangjin-gu Citizen Award is the district's representative honor, established in 1995. It was created to express gratitude and respect to exemplary residents who serve as role models in the community and to enhance the pride of Gwangjin-gu residents.
This year, the number of award categories has been expanded from three to eight, allowing for broader recognition of residents and organizations who have made significant efforts in various fields.
The award categories are: ▲Community Development ▲Donations·Volunteer Work ▲Education·Culture and Arts Promotion ▲Sports Promotion ▲Economic Vitalization ▲Social Welfare·Health ▲Urban Safety·Environment ▲Filial Piety·Model Family.
Nominees must be individuals or organizations with outstanding achievements in the relevant category, and as of the award date, must have resided in or been based in Gwangjin-gu for at least three years.
Nominations can be made by the head of the nominee's local community center, the head of a relevant department, the head of a related institution or organization, or by a joint recommendation of ten or more Gwangjin-gu residents. Completed nomination forms and records of achievements should be submitted in person to the Gwangjin-gu Office's Autonomous Administration Division, or sent by mail or email.
The awards ceremony for the 30th Gwangjin-gu Citizen Award will be held during the 'Gwangjin-gu Citizen's Day' celebration, alongside the opening ceremony of the new integrated government building. The names of the awardees will be permanently displayed within the government building.
