KITA: "Let's Enhance Export Company Productivity with AI Agents"

Highlighting AI Technology Trends and Strategies for SMEs

There was a suggestion that strategies for utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) agents should be explored in order to enhance the productivity of export companies and achieve cost reduction.


On April 28, the Korea International Trade Association jointly held a seminar titled "AI Agent - A New Paradigm of Digital Innovation" with the Federation of Korean Information Industries (FKII) at Trade Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. An AI agent refers to a form of AI technology that acts as an "intelligent agent," performing functions such as business process automation and decision-making support.

This seminar was organized to explore the potential for applying AI agents in corporate settings and to discuss future strategies. More than 200 executives and employees from companies interested in AI transformation attended the event. At the venue, participants discussed the latest trends and future prospects of AI technology, as well as strategies and directions for AI adoption by small and medium-sized enterprises.


Ohhyung Kwon, adjunct professor at Konkuk University, emphasized in his lecture the importance of designing AI agents tailored to the unique business models of individual companies. He stressed that companies must secure core competitiveness through real-time data analysis and integration with various tools, from strategy formulation to efficient operation.


Additionally, Sunghyun Choi, team leader at the Korea Productivity Center, presented AI application cases for small and medium-sized enterprises and the lessons learned from them. Minsu Kim, a management leader at CJ Logistics, introduced examples of how utilizing AI agents has automated repetitive tasks previously performed by skilled workers, thereby enhancing operational efficiency.


Heecheol Jung, Head of Trade Promotion Department at the Korea International Trade Association, stated, "AI agents, which enable real-time capture of market data and 24-hour automated communication with overseas buyers, are practical tools that can enhance the productivity of small and medium-sized export companies and reduce costs." He added, "With the newly established Sustainable Growth Support Office this year, we will actively support the AI transformation of export companies through practical assistance such as AI internalization consulting and the dissemination of successful case studies."
