Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, Visits Hyosung Heavy Industries and LG Electronics.
This visit was organized to address the issues raised by companies during the 'Gyeongnam Economic Roundtable' held on April 23. Hyosung Heavy Industries requested the installation of a left-turn signal in front of Plant 4 and the establishment of flood prevention measures for Namcheon near Plants 1 and 2. LG Electronics requested regulatory improvements related to the relocation and installation of the workplace daycare center at Plant 1.
Regarding the installation of a left-turn signal in front of Hyosung Heavy Industries' Plant 4, the city plans to submit the matter to the Traffic Safety Facility Review Committee. For the flooding issue of Namcheon near Plants 1 and 2, the city intends to develop a fundamental solution, even if it takes some time, rather than relying on temporary measures.
In addition, for the relocation and installation of the workplace daycare center at LG Electronics Plant 1, relevant departments from Gyeongnam Province and the city plan to visit the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Education in early May to discuss amendments to the regulation that restricts the installation of daycare centers within 50 meters of hazardous facilities. The city aims to accelerate improvements to the relevant systems.
Jang Geumyong stated, "Resolving the difficulties faced by companies will be the city's top priority, and we will provide practical responses to the voices from the field," adding, "We will create a business-friendly environment and establish a foundation for joint growth between the local government and companies."
