Amicogen (CEO Pyo Jjeo), a company specializing in bio materials and healthcare, announced on April 28 that its subsidiary, PurioGen (CEO Byun Jangwoong), a manufacturer specializing in chromatography resin, has signed an OEM agreement with the Swedish bio materials company Bio-Works Technologies AB.
This agreement was reached as a result of discussions on strengthening strategic cooperation between the two companies during the visit of Bio-Works CEO Lone Carlbom to PurioGen from April 23 to 24.
Under this OEM agreement, high-quality chromatography resin products produced by PurioGen will be supplied to the global market through Bio-Works' worldwide sales network. Although final testing and verification procedures for some products are currently underway, they are expected to be completed without significant issues.
Once supply begins in earnest, initial annual sales are expected to reach approximately 1 billion KRW, with the possibility of expanding to over 3 billion KRW depending on market response and the further expansion of Bio-Works' global sales network.
In addition to this OEM agreement, the two companies also engaged in extensive discussions regarding additional business cooperation in various fields, and agreed to establish a long-term business partnership based on close collaboration for mutual benefit.
A PurioGen representative stated, "This collaboration is expected to generate significant synergy for both companies by combining Amicogen's accumulated technological expertise with Bio-Works' global network."
Through this global OEM supply agreement by its subsidiary PurioGen, Amicogen plans to further accelerate its strategy for localization of bio materials and entry into the global market, and actively contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic biopharmaceutical industry.
