Hongsung Permanent Market to Operate "Food Zone" in Conjunction with Historical Figures Festival Hongsung Permanent Market, which will host a food zone and performance stage linked to the Hongsung Historical Figures Festival. Provided by Hongsung County

On April 28, Hongsung County in South Chungcheong Province announced that the Hongsung Permanent Market Merchants Association will operate a "Food Zone" at the market in conjunction with the "Hongsung Historical Figures Festival" and the "Children's Day Grand Celebration," which will be held over four days from May 3 to May 6 in the area around Hongju Eupseong.

The Permanent Market Food Zone will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering around 20 different types of foods that can be enjoyed at the market, including banquet noodles, fried chicken, twisted breadsticks, hotteok, dakgalbi, and mini gimbap.

The performance stage will recreate the nostalgic atmosphere of the old market by featuring retro-style performances such as traditional street entertainer acts and shows by cultural and arts groups.

In particular, the "Meat Grilling Day" restaurant, which operates every Friday and Saturday at Hongsung Permanent Market, will be further promoted during the festival period to offer visitors the rich flavors of Hongsung Hanwoo beef and Korean pork alongside the festivities.

Kim Taeok, head of the Economic Policy Division of Hongsung County, stated, "This festival is expected to make a significant contribution to revitalizing the local economy by providing a wealth of experiences that combine history, culture, and food, thereby widely promoting the charms of Hongsung not only to local residents but also to tourists."
