Korea Zinc Implements IT Asset Management Solution... Establishes Automated Operations System

Established in Collaboration with Affiliate Seorin Information Technology
Rapid Response to IT Failures and Enhanced Security Audit Capabilities

On April 28, Korea Zinc announced that it has adopted the 'ServiceNow IT Operations Management (OM)' solution to improve the efficiency of its information technology (IT) infrastructure operations. Through this initiative, the company has established a real-time monitoring system and further enhanced the level of operational automation.

The implementation of this ITOM solution was carried out in collaboration with Seorin Information Technology, Korea Zinc's IT affiliate. Previously, information on key IT assets was managed manually and maintained through separate systems. As a result, it was difficult to quickly and accurately identify the cause of failures when they occurred.


To address these issues, Seorin Information Technology developed the ServiceNow ITOM system, which enables real-time detection of IT asset anomalies and significantly improves the visual delivery of operational information. The focus was on automatically identifying IT assets using the 'Discovery' feature, which consolidates dispersed information within ServiceNow into a single source.


An 'integrated dashboard' was also implemented, allowing users to view operational status at a glance. This not only enables immediate identification of which assets are experiencing problems, but also establishes a foundation for rapid response to failures.


As a result of applying the ServiceNow ITOM solution, the time required to analyze the impact scope of incidents has been reduced. The repetitive manual data entry tasks involved in IT asset management have also been alleviated. In particular, the system now automatically records asset change histories, establishing a framework for agile responses to security audits.


A Korea Zinc representative stated, "Since the introduction of the ServiceNow ITOM solution, both the reliability and efficiency of our IT operations have improved," adding, "By preemptively blocking previously unseen IT infrastructure security risks, our ability to respond to operational crises has been significantly enhanced."


Meanwhile, Seorin Information Technology, as Korea Zinc's IT affiliate, carries out digital transformation projects in various areas?including enterprise resource planning (ERP), cloud, security, business automation, IT service management (SM), and ITOM?for both group companies and external clients.
