Incheon TP to Provide Research Funding and Consulting to One-Person Design Companies

Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) will provide research activity funding to one-person design companies in the Incheon area.

Incheon TP is accepting applications until May 9 for companies wishing to participate in the "2025 Incheon Small Design Company Support Project," which aims to foster the growth of design specialists and revitalize the design industry.

This project is intended to help one-person design companies, whose numbers have surged following the amendment of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Design Promotion Act, achieve genuine independence and secure competitiveness. It targets one-person design companies established within the past eight years, offering them research activity funding and one-on-one consulting.

According to Incheon TP, as of last month, a total of 484 design specialist companies were registered in Incheon, with more than half (53.5%) operating as small businesses with one or fewer professional staff. These companies face difficulties in securing design projects or participating in government support programs due to a lack of performance records and limited networks.

Through this support project, Incheon TP will select a total of five companies and provide up to 5 million won in research activity funding for portfolio development, in-house product planning, and promotional content production. Expert mentoring will also be offered to companies that wish to receive it.

An Incheon TP official stated, "We will further strengthen the design industry ecosystem in the Incheon area by providing customized support that addresses the needs identified in the field."
