Lee Jae Myung Elected as Democratic Party Presidential Candidate with Final Vote Share of 89.77%

Former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae Myung was elected as the Democratic Party candidate for the 21st presidential election on April 27, 2025.

The Democratic Party officially nominated Lee as its presidential candidate at the regional primary and final candidate selection event for the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and Jeju, held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on this day. Lee secured nearly 90% of the total cumulative votes.

Lee achieved a cumulative vote share of 89.77% by combining the results of the regional primary votes and the general public vote.
