On April 27, LG Energy Solution announced that it held the global talent recruitment event "Battery Tech Conference (BTC)" in Chicago, United States. Key executives, including CEO Kim, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Kim Jaeyoung, Chief Digital Officer (CDO) Lee Jingyu, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHO) Kim Kisoo, and Max Daesik Choi, Head of the Michigan subsidiary, were all present at the event.

At the event, CEO Kim stated, "The battery industry holds tremendous growth potential that can change the future of humanity," adding, "We organized this event to find 'growth partners' who will design the future together with LG Energy Solution amid infinite possibilities."

BTC is an annual recruitment-linked event hosted by LG Energy Solution, where PhD and master's-level talent from around the world are invited to learn about the company's technological capabilities and vision. Following events in San Francisco in 2023 and New York last year, this year's BTC was held in Chicago. Approximately 40 PhD and master's candidates from leading U.S. universities and research institutions?including MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Cornell, University of Chicago, and Northwestern?were invited to attend.

LG Energy Solution's leadership engaged with attendees on a variety of topics, including the company's technological leadership, research and development (R&D) case studies, business vision, and organizational culture. In particular, CEO Kim held a "CEO Roundtable," where he met directly with the talent and shared his own "career story."

CEO Kim, who holds a PhD in materials engineering, joined the company in 1998 at the battery research center and built a specialized career in the battery field through roles in R&D, product planning, and business division leadership before becoming CEO. He remarked, "Whenever I attend the BTC event, I am reminded of my early career days more than 30 years ago, when I joined LG with dreams similar to yours," and added, "Thinking about the journey ahead with you?each possessing outstanding potential in your respective fields?to lead the future of LG Energy Solution and the global battery industry, my heart is filled with excitement and anticipation."

CEO Kim emphasized, "LG Energy Solution provides the best possible support to ensure that global R&D talent can fully demonstrate their capabilities," and stated, "We will continue to make various efforts to secure talent who will drive future growth and change."
