Visits Changwon Gymnasium to Wish Success to the LG Sakers
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam showed its full support for the local team by cheering for the Changwon LG Sakers during the first game of the 2024-2025 professional basketball semifinal playoffs, held at Changwon Gymnasium.

The match on April 24 was a face-off between the Changwon LG Sakers, who advanced directly to the semifinals as the second-place team in the regular season, and Ulsan Hyundai Mobis, who finished third. From the very first playoff game, the event drew intense interest from local citizens.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, met with Kim Inseok, CEO of LG Sports, Son Jongo, general manager, and KBL officials before the game, encouraging team officials and personally attending the match to applaud the spirited play of the LG players.
This season, Changwon LG achieved an impressive record of 34 wins and 20 losses in the regular season, finishing in second place and raising high expectations among fans with their consistent performance. Notably, Carl Tamayo and Assem Marei were named to the Best 5, an honor given to the top performers of the season, while Yang Junseok received the Most Improved Player award for his outstanding performance.
Riding this momentum, Changwon LG is aiming to advance to the championship finals. The semifinal playoffs are a best-of-five series, with home games scheduled for April 26 and May 2.
Acting Mayor Jang stated, "I hope the strength and fighting spirit that LG Sakers demonstrated during the regular season will shine in the playoffs as well," adding, "As the pride of Changwon citizens, we will continue to support the LG Sakers wholeheartedly so they can rise to become the best team in the nation, beyond just Changwon."
