At a party member meeting held at the Gwangju Branch of the Democratic Party that day, Kim stated, "The biggest problem facing Honam is the lack of quality jobs," adding, "I will focus policy efforts on creating good jobs so that young people do not leave." To achieve this, he pledged to develop Gwangju and Jeonnam into a convergence hub for artificial intelligence (AI) and future mobility, and to invest 400 trillion won in establishing the West Coast RE100 line to expand the metropolitan transportation network.
For current issues in Gwangju and Jeonnam, he proposed: including the spirit of the 5·18 movement in the preamble of the Constitution and changing its official name to "5·18 Gwangju Democratic Uprising"; strengthening public healthcare, including attracting a national medical school; and forming a consultative body for the relocation of the Gwangju military airport.
Earlier, at a meeting with party members of the Jeonbuk Provincial Party, he announced the "ABC Strategy (Agriculture·Bio·Climate tech)" to foster Jeonbuk as a center for eco-industries. Kim emphasized, "By combining technology and AI with agriculture, attracting major bio companies, and nurturing the climate industry, we will usher in a renaissance era for Jeonbuk."
He also presented pledges to expand transportation and infrastructure, including normalizing the Saemangeum project, supporting Jeonju's bid to host the Summer Olympics, and promoting east-west cross-country railways and expressways. Kim said, "I am the candidate best equipped to lead economic recovery and national unity," and pledged, "I will become a confident economic president."
