On April 24, Daejeon City Council Chairperson Cho Wonhui met with a delegation from the Bayangol District Council of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to discuss ways to promote exchanges.


As their first official activity of the visit, the delegation?including the chairperson of the Bayangol District Council?toured Daejeon's waste treatment facilities and listened to explanations about the city's resource circulation system and waste management policies.


The Bayangol District Council has shown interest in urban redevelopment and waste management issues, and it is reported that the delegation was deeply impressed by Daejeon's advanced policies and practical systems during this visit.


During the meeting that followed the site tour, Chairperson Cho Wonhui stated, "Daejeon is building a sustainable city through the regeneration of old downtown areas, citizen-centered urban development, and eco-friendly waste policies. I hope that Daejeon's policy experience will be helpful to Bayangol District's urban planning within the long-standing friendly relationship between our countries."


Meanwhile, Bayangol District is a city of 250,000 people located in the central western part of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. It is home to the largest Buddhist temple in Mongolia, Mongolian National Broadcaster (MNB), UBS TV, a railway station, and other major social infrastructure, serving as a commercial, educational, and cultural hub within Ulaanbaatar.
