The Honam Branch of the Korea Labor Foundation (headed by Kang Sooyoung) held a promotional campaign for the "Worker Connection Center" to protect the rights and interests of unorganized workers on the afternoon of the 24th, in cooperation with the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office (headed by Lee Doyoung), around the Gwangju General Bus Terminal Youth Square area.

The "Worker Connection Center" supports counseling services to protect the rights and interests of unorganized workers, and also operates a communication channel through the "Labor SOS" Kakao channel. Opened on May 10 last year, the Gwangju Worker Connection Center is located on the 5th floor of the Gwangju Employment Welfare Plus Center, where a certified labor attorney provides free counseling services on labor laws and related matters from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays. In addition, the center offers on-site labor law counseling services and labor law education in parallel.

Starting this year, the range of services has been expanded from existing workers to include freelancers and platform workers. In particular, to resolve various disputes that occur in the workplace, lawyers and tax accountants now provide legal and tax counseling, and a new expert dispute mediation service has been established to facilitate voluntary agreements between parties involved.

Kang Sooyoung, head of the Honam Branch of the Korea Labor Foundation, stated, "The Worker Connection Center will serve as a strong support for unorganized workers," adding, "We will expand our services not only to workers but also to freelancers and platform workers, provide specialized services such as legal and tax counseling, and support people so that they can work in better workplaces."
