The G5-AICT Research Center for Intelligent Innovation at Chonnam National University announced on the 24th that it operated a special exhibition hall at the "ITRC Talent Development Festival 2025."

The event, which opened that day at COEX in Seoul, is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and will run until the 26th in conjunction with the "World IT Show 2025," the largest ICT exhibition in Korea. A total of 38 universities and 81 research centers from across the country participated. The G5-AICT Research Center for Intelligent Innovation at Chonnam National University was selected as the operator of the special exhibition hall, where it focused on presenting AI-based ICT convergence research achievements centered on Gwangju's five strategic industries.

Key technologies on display included the "Decentralized Dual Biometric Authentication Solution," which won the CES 2025 Best of Innovation Award, and the "AI-Powered Precision Cardiac Ultrasound Examination," which received an Innovation Award, among a total of 18 outstanding technologies. Notably, the biometric authentication solution received the highest honor from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which organizes CES and selects only the top 1% of thousands of technologies each year, thereby demonstrating its technological excellence and security on an international stage.

Other technologies exhibited included energy control systems, Brain Spa, wearable electrocardiogram monitoring, remote education and diagnostic metaverse, and ultra-accelerated durability evaluation devices, all of which are closely related to industry and daily life and attracted significant interest from visitors. Among these, immersive experience contents such as a medical metaverse platform capable of large-scale realistic medical treatment, an AI-based CPR training system, and a mixed reality-based interface received particularly enthusiastic responses from the audience.

This exhibition also highlighted the achievements of industry-academia collaboration derived through partnerships with local startups. The biometric authentication solution co-developed with Ghostpass Co., Ltd. and the cardiac ultrasound examination technology from Inviz Co., Ltd. were recognized for their technological excellence on the international stage and emerged as representative success stories of industry-academia cooperation.

In addition, the outcomes of joint research and technology commercialization with major local companies such as AICID Co., Ltd., MEMS Co., Ltd., Korea Alps Co., Ltd., and Answer Co., Ltd. were also unveiled, demonstrating the close collaborative structure with the regional industry.

Jinsul Kim, director of the center, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award at the "2025 ICT Technology Commercialization Festival" held on the same day. This award recognized the systematic cultivation of regional innovation talent through master's and doctoral programs and practice-oriented joint research targeting employees of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Jinsul Kim stated, "I am very pleased that this special exhibition hall has provided an opportunity to widely showcase the excellence of regional AI-based ICT convergence technologies and our achievements in talent development." He added, "We will continue to work closely with companies to solve various challenges in the industrial field and do our utmost to nurture high-level talent who will lead the future industries of the region and the nation."
