The Graduate School of Dongseo University (President JaeGuk Jang) awarded an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration to Chanming Yang, former President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in China, at the Concert Hall of the Culture Center on the 23rd.

Dongseo University stated that the award was given in recognition of former President Yang's contributions to the qualitative development of higher education in China and the expansion of international exchanges. In particular, during his tenure as president of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, he successfully led major projects under the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, playing a leading role in educational innovation and international cooperation.

Notably, former President Yang spearheaded the academic exchange agreement with Dongseo University starting in 2006 and led ongoing discussions from 2007 onward for the establishment of the Korea-China New Media College, a joint educational program between Korea and China. This program was officially approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2011 and has since enabled approximately 300 students from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law to study at Dongseo University each year. The program has been operated stably for over 14 years and has become a model case for higher education cooperation between the two countries.

JaeGuk Jang, President of Dongseo University, stated, "Former President Chanming Yang is an educator who embodies both academic excellence and integrity. He has dedicated himself to the establishment and growth of the Korea-China New Media College, strengthening the friendship between our two universities," adding, "The awarding of this honorary doctorate is a gesture of our deep gratitude and respect."

Former President Yang, in his acceptance speech and special lecture titled "Scientific and Technological Transformation and the Value of Humanity," offered profound insights on the direction of education in the 21st century and the shared future of humanity, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

This conferment of the honorary doctorate, coinciding with the 33rd anniversary of Dongseo University's founding, marks a significant milestone in higher education cooperation between Korea and China. It also opens a new horizon for fostering global talent for future generations and strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
