Embracing Multicultural Families and International Students
On April 24, the Yuhan Foundation announced that it will provide a total of 1.42 billion won in scholarships to 142 graduate students this year.

The Yuhan Foundation held the '2025 Yoo Ilhan Scholarship Award Ceremony' the previous day in the training room on the 4th floor of Yuhan Corporation headquarters in Dongjak-gu, Seoul. The 'Yoo Ilhan Scholarship' is a scholarship program established to support talented individuals who are dedicated to their studies and research in master's and doctoral programs. In particular, it is distinguished from other scholarship programs by its broad inclusion of students from diverse backgrounds, not only those from low-income families but also those from multicultural families and international students. Among the 2025 scholarship recipients, 35?approximately 25%?are international students.
Kim Joongsoo, Chairman of the Yuhan Foundation, stated, "The 'Yoo Ilhan Scholarship' is an unconditional and gratuitous scholarship program established based on the founder, Dr. Yoo Ilhan's philosophy that 'corporate profits should be returned to society.'" He added, "Nurturing talented individuals through education is the core mission of the Yuhan Foundation, and in particular, graduate education forms the foundation of national competitiveness."
He continued, "I hope that the scholarship recipients will take the lead in addressing the challenges of our time as intellectuals and contribute to the development of society, taking pride in being 'Yoo Ilhan Scholars.'"
Founded by Dr. Yoo Ilhan, who devoted his life as an independence activist, entrepreneur, and educator, the Yuhan Foundation operates various scholarship programs for students who require financial support for their studies to advance talent development in Korea.
Since its establishment in 1970, the Yuhan Foundation has selected outstanding undergraduate and graduate students each year to provide scholarships. To date, the cumulative number of recipients has reached approximately 8,700, with a total amount of 30 billion won awarded.
Meanwhile, the award ceremony was attended by Chairman Kim Joongsoo, Choi Sanghoo, Chairman of Yuhan Academy, Cho Wookje, President and CEO of Yuhan Corporation, and Mrs. Illing Yoo, granddaughter of the late Dr. Yoo Ilhan.
